Powerpuff girls in B'wood

With Kareena Kapoor doing tough action scenes, Bollywood actresses are no longer shying away from doing some kick ass stunts. Here’s a list

Action scenes have always been a forte of Bollywood heroes. But not anymore as the ladies of the Hindi film industry are no longer playing the damsel in distress
From swinging the sword to riding heady-duty bikes, they are ready to kiss ass and are quite sporting in doing action sequences. Here’s a list

Priyanka Chopra in 'Drona': For the film, Priyanka Chopra learned a martial art form called Gathka for a month and trainers from Punjab were called in for the training. She played Abhishek Bachchan's bodyguard (quite unbelievable!) and had to learn to use a weapon that looks like a wheel with ropes and small balls attached to it. Though the film sank without a trace, Priyanka shone through with her power packed stunts.

Deepika Padukone in 'Chandni Chowk to China' : Deepika donned the action avatar for the first time in her career in 'Chandni Chowk To China'. She injured her ankle thrice over the same place but  having a martial arts choreographer of 'Kill Bill', 'Kung Fu Hustle', 'Matrix' helped her pull through some death-defying stunts. For three months, Deepika trained along with Akshay to get her moves right.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Jodha Akbar: After playing the stunning chor in 'Dhoom2', Aishwarya took up sword fighting for the scene. The training for sword-fighting took place at Mehboob studios and she learnt sword-fighting for 45 days. The actress also performed some difficult stunts in 'Raavan' and 'Endhiran'.

Lara Dutta in 'Blue': The stunning actress not only lost oodles of weight for the film but also did some heavy-duty underwater stunts. The actress had to undergo rigorous swimming and scuba diving lessons for three months. She swam with the sharks and wowed the audience.
