Samsung Intensity Review

Samsung Intensity U450 released in 2009 is a smartphone that offers basic facilities to users at a reasonable price. Not only does this device face competition from other smartphones released before, it is important to know whether Samsung Intensity offers enough or not. Here’s taking a closer look:

Design

Samsung Intensity U450 is constructed out of plastic with rounded edges. When the screen slides across it reveals a full QWERTY keyboard. Though this device doesn’t feel too light, the plastic build makes it less sturdier than other smartphones. This device has a 2.1″ TFT display of 176х220 pixel resolution. The display quality is average and screen visibility outdoors is a problem. Below the display is the circular D-Pad surrounded by two soft keys, speakerphone and clear key. Send and End keys are found at the edges of these keys. A number keypad is situated below these keys, with each key being raised so that it can be felt easily.
While the left of the Samsung Intensity has a headset jack, volume rocker and charging port, the right side houses the voice command key and camera key. The rear of this smartphone contains the camera lens and speaker.

Samsung Intensity Software

Samsung Intensity has a standard phonebook, with a maximum of 1,000 entries with multiple numbers and emails allowed per person. Typing a message can occur through the QWERTY keyboard or through the T9 input method. Emails can be accessed easily and the app Mobile e-mail can help in this. While the music player works well with good sound quality, music cannot be downloaded over the air.

Keyboard

The keyboard on the Samsung Intensity has four rows of keys with the keys being curved. While this is not a very spacious keyboard, it does have an average comfort feel. There is a dedicated key for messaging. The arrow keys on this keyboard are located on the L, M, N, and period keys.

Camera

Samsung Intensity has a 1.3MP camera lens that produces very average photos. There are photo editing options and images can be shot in varying resolutions.

Samsung Intensity Battery

This device has 5 hours of talktime and 12 days of standby time.

Samsung Intensity Cases

This device can be made to look snazzy through the variety of cases available. Samsung Intensity hot pink and blue skins are offered to cover the device and make it more durable. Also available are Body Glove Snap-on Cases in black or a pink checked design. One may also use a Carbon Star or Milk Drop White Cover.
While the Samsung Intensity is a compact device at a reasonable price, it comes with a poor camera and display quality is not too great. Users who are looking for a stylish device that is high on performance should probably look elsewhere.
