SlingPlayer for iphone release imminent: $30

There has been quite a high level of excitement and anticipation surrounding the SlingPlayer for iphone. The much anticipated SlingPlayer has finally hit the stores. You too can fetch your SlingPlayer at any of the iTunes App Store.
While the SlingPlayer has finally hit the market, it has come with a major restriction. The SlingPlayer will only stream video over Wi-Fi and not over AT&T’s 3G data network.  Owing to this restriction, the usability of SlingPlayer has been hampered by a great extent.
Slingbox set-top boxes give the users the opportunity to stream their home TV in real-time to anywhere they want. Available at $29.99, the SlingPlayer application comes across as slightly expensive for iPhone apps. However, the price is just the same as the previous SlingPlayer mobile apps versions for Blackberry, Palm OS and Windows Mobile.

The SlingPlayer mobile is compatible with all existing iphone. It also works with the ipod touch models. With the kind of compatibility that SlingPlayer has to offer, one should not have a problem using the apps. Apart from he Slingbox Solo, Slingbox Pro, and Slingbox Pro-HD models, the iphone player would also work with all legacy models. However, technical support will not be available for the legacy models.
The software has not undergone much change since its first version. But all those of you who had been dying for the apps can now have a look at it at your nearest store. An even better idea would be to wait for sometime and see the market response.
