Police have dropped a charge of unlawfully possessing an semi-automatic shotgun against Wayne Tempero.
Tempero has elected trial by jury for the other two charges, of possession of a pistol for an unlawful purpose.
He told media outside court he will fight the charges and intends to plead not guilty.
Tempero will reappear in the North Shore District Court on March 30 at 10am.
Tempero was arrested in January after police raided Dotcom's $30 million rented mansion in Coatesville, Auckland, at the request of the FBI. Police cut Dotcom out of a safe room he had barricaded himself in.
He had been bailed in February to the mansion with Dotcom's pregnant wife, Mona and the couple's three children. Tempero continues to work for Dotcom, who has been his employer for over two years.
Dotcom has denied any deliberate copyright infringement by his company and says he will prove his innocence.
The 38-year-old founder of the file-sharing website Megaupload is accused of a range of charges including conspiracy to commit racketeering, conspiracy to commit copyright infringement and conspiracy to commit money laundering.
The German national, who is also known as Kim Schmitz, faces extradition to the United States for his role in megaupload.com, which US Federal prosecutors say has cost copyright holders more than $620 million in revenue lost through pirated material.
He remains free on bail after the High Court in Auckland last week dismissed an application made by the Crown on behalf of the US Government for him to be returned to custody as a flight risk.

Thank You !!!! :
