Mobile phones have always been the most desired gadgets of our time. Although the purpose of a cellphone is to keep you connected, good looks don't hurt. In the pre-smartphone era, people were least concerned about specs. Therefore, manufacturers used to come out with designs that stood out in the crowd. Now, it's all about multi-core CPUs and bigger screen sizes. This probably explains, why the list of best looking handsets feature more more dumb phones than the smart ones.

5. Motorola StarTAC
Launched in 1996, the StarTAC impressed everyone with its clamshell design. Although it wasn't the first of its kind, it was a trend setter for sure. At the time, operators would charge for incoming calls, which actually helped StarTAC become a status symbol.

In 2005, Nokia grabbed attention of with its stunningly beautiful slider phone. It featured stainless steel body and scratch resistant glass. What's more, the sliding mechanism was aided by premium ball bearings, which are generally used in high-performance cars.
3. Motorola RAZR V3
Building on the success of StarTAC, Motorola came up with even better design. The RAZR V3 was arguably the thinnest and most desired flip-phone of its time. Apart from a classy black and silver, the handset was also available in pink, which made it an instant hit among girls.

Although every iPhone is generally considered as revolutionary, it didn't get the killer looks until its fourth generation. Unlike its predecessors, the iPhone 4 has metallic frame, which may not be good at network reception, but it does make the handset look classy. The glass on the rear might shatter, but is a total eye-candy.

The N9 was different not only for being the first and last device to run Meego, but also because of it's stunning looks. Each handset is carved out of a single block of polycarbonate with the help of CNC-machines. If the minimalistic design and curved display doesn't blow you away, the precision of the build will do that for sure.
