With the country rapidly falling into Olympic fever, Sega has announced that it will release the official London 2012 Olympics Video game on June 29th.
Set to touch down for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC platforms almost a month ahead of the games’ opening ceremony, the London 2012 video game will see gamers given a chance to don the virtual Lycra and compete in the events which they failed to secure tickets to in the ballot.
With 45 Olympic events included, gamers will be transported to a selection of the games’ most iconic venues with the Olympic Stadium, Velodrome, Aquatics Centre and North Greenwich Arena (the Millennium Dome), to compete in athletics, cycling, diving and gymnastic events amongst others.
Further bringing the audience into the action of the Olympics, Sega has confirmed that a selection of the in-game Olympic based events will be compatible with Sony’s PlayStation Move and Microsoft’s Xbox Kinect based motion gaming peripherals.
