Mobile internet use gets double in a year

New figures show that use of cell phone devices to access internet has got double within a year.  These comScore’s latest stats show that nearly 63.2m people worldwide are using cell phone devices to get internet access and nearly 35% out of them use mobile devices for this purpose almost daily.
According to the figures, which were noted in 08, nearly 11m people were using their mobile phones or other such devices every day to have internet access. And now after one year, these numbers have climbed up to over 22m.

Mark Donovan, who is senior vice president at comScore mobile division, says in this connection: “During the past one year, it has been found that use of mobile internet is becoming a part of people’s daily life rather than an occasional activity.”
“It indicates the importance of some new mobile mediums as users are relying on their cell phones to access internet and utilize their sensitive information,” he adds.
Social networking is being named as the biggest factor in this connection that fuelling this rise in mobile internet use. Now there is an astounding 427% increase in the number of people who are mobile phones to access their social networking accounts daily.
“Blogging and social networking have come up as two well-known uses of the mobile internet these days and we can expect that there would a huge increase in these activities in the coming days.”
