Tweeting About Love

TechTree Blog: Tweeting About Love
No matter what your relationship status is, almost everybody on Twitter has something to say about Valentine's Day. While the debate is still on about which gender talks more, women seem to be winning the race on the microblogging website on the day of love at least. A report from NM Incite suggests that the fairer sex tweets almost twice as much as men, and are more upbeat about the day. The website says it has analysed over 70,000 pre-Valentine's Day tweets, which shows that around one-tenth of the tweets from men about the romantic occasion are positive, as compared to one-fifth of that from women.

The most discussed topic seems to be not having a date, which seems to be the case for 36% of the women and 25% men. However, women tend to talk about gifting ideas, whereas men share their dislike for the holiday the most. The other trending topics include #ThingsWomenWant, #UncoolValentinesDayGifts, and #RelationshipsEndBecause. Hence, it seems like Valentine's is not just the perfect day to profess your love, but also to move on in life.

Before you head over to Twitter do check out the Google Doodle for the day (or the video below). After all love isn't about picking the perfect gift, and opposites don't always attract. What did you tweet about today? Do let us know through the comments section.
