HTC to release Android-powered handset in China

It’s really an eventful holiday especially for news related to HTC-Android phone, as a leaked AT&T documents showed that the Lancaster, a new HTC Android device will be launched in the US during August and now there are news that the company is also going to uncover an Android powered handset in China that is quite well known as the largest wireless market of the world.
According to a report published in the Wall Street Journal, this new Android-powered handset will serve as the upcoming version of the HTC’s Magic that is T-Mobile’s G1 successor and was launched during February this year.
The report also says that the handset will be customized via software form Chinese wireless carrier China Mobile as well as OPhones. Well, the name may force you to think about another smaller handset, but this time, you must keep this fact in mind that O has no more been capitalized.
The final word about price hasn’t been announced yet, but according to the report, it will retail around 5,000 yuan or about $730 in China.
Android-powered Handset
HTC is aiming to double its sales in China and the new OPhones can really prove quite effective to get these desired results for the company. The company succeeded to sell nearly 800,000 units during the last year.
For Asian markets, Android-powered handsets aren’t a new thing, as HTC magic has been launched in Singapore earlier this month.
